WE DID IT! Sequoya Endowment Campaign meets its goal
It was a busy and productive year for the Foundation and members of the Sequoya Endowment committee. Together with the support of many generous donors, we raised over $166,000, exceeding our goal by more than $16,000!
Of course we never would have reached our goal without the Madison Community Foundation, who established a terrific Matching Gift program that gave us $.50 for every $1 donated. And in the final month of the campaign, the Friends of Sequoya stepped it up another notch to rematch another $1 for every dollar donated.
With more than a dozen appeals, ranging from direct mailings, phone-a-thons and tabling events, we appealed to the community to invest in the Sequoya Branch Library.
There were also efforts organized by neighborhood groups and individuals to garner additional revenue to provide a stream of perpetual income for special programs and resources at the Sequoya Branch.
Our sincere thanks to the local authors who took part in the Sequoya Author’s Series to help us meet the endowment goal: David Maraniss, Jerry Apps, Barry Levenson, Robert H. Dott, Jr., Ellyn Satter, Terese Allen, Agate Nesaule, Kevin Henkes and Laura Dronzek.
We thank everyone who donated their time, energy and financial support to help us exeed our goal.
A special thank you to the Endowment Campaign Committee: Jean MacCubbin (Co-Chair), Gary Poulson (Co-Chair), Russ Whitesel, Tom Krauskopf, Nadine Pfotenhauer, Cheryl Popuch, Ann Michalski, Judy Olson, Rick Chandler and Jane Roughen, Branch Supervisor
