Authors Help Sequoya Branch Library Meet the Endowment Challenge

The Sequoya Endowment Campaign Committee is pleased to announce that we are now 45% of the way toward meeting our $100,000 goal.  Through the establishment of the Sequoya Branch Endowment, Madison Public Library Foundation will be able to give earnings on the endowment to the Sequoya Branch Library on an ongoing basis for programs and resources.  Imagine the possibilities for programs, resources and services for the residents that use the Sequoya Branch!

The Madison Community Foundation has selected the new Sequoya Branch as one of three libraries to participate in its 2009 Library Endowment Matching Challenge Grant program.  This means that for every $1.00 contributed to the Sequoya branch endowment campaign during 2009, the Madison Community Foundation will match it by $.50 up to $100,000.

All contributions and pledges (payable up to three years) are welcome. Collectively, we will ensure the Sequoya Branch Library will thrive for generations to come.

To help you learn more about the Sequoya Endowment Fund and the Madison Community Foundation Challenge Grant, Sequoya will be sponsoring a series of author events throughout the fall of 2009.  After a brief overview of the endowment challenge, you’ll have an opportunity to meet some of your favorite Wisconsin authors and hear about their latest work.
