Help the Library Plan for a New South Madison Branch
Madison Public Library invites interested citizens to help define the future of the South Madison Branch. A listening session - the second in a series of three - will be held at the South Madison Library at 2222 S. Park Street on Tuesday, April 7 from 6 - 8 p.m. Preliminary schematic sketches will be available for review and discussion.
Community input will be crucial in determining the best possible design for the new South Madison Library. The architectural design team, Engberg Anderson of Madison, will use input about the library's services, amenities and ambiance to guide the development of design options. A final meeting on May 12 will provide an opportunity for residents to offer feedback on schematic drawings.
The South Madison Branch will expand from 3,200 square feet to 12,000 square feet and will inhabit the first floor of a two-story building owned by the Urban League of Greater Madison. The Urban League will be headquartered on the second floor. The building will serve as the anchor for the Villager Redevelopment Project.
